Storyboard Text

  • May 25, 1787. 55 delegates from each of the states have gathered to present a new form of government and what will become of our nation.
  • I will go next, Mr. Washington.
  • Let's get the convention started! Who's speaking first?
  • I will Mr. Washington.
  • Today we will discuss a new form of gov: The Constitution! We will start by addressing whether slavery should be legal in the Constitution. I believe slavery should end.
  • Yeah! If you think you can take away our state's economy, then you're plumb crazy!
  • I disagree with your opinion. ⅗ of slaves should be counted for both taxation and representation.
  • Preposterous! If slaves are counted, why not count my sheep and pigs?
  • This won't end very well! We might be in here for a while!
  • While slaves are doing various jobs, it increases productivity and economic value!
  • One long discussion later...
  • Approve!
  • Amend!
  • Hey!
  • Constitution!
  • Yes!
  • No!
  • Vote!
  • Deny!
