Smokey the Raindrop was a water droplet that had just been condensed on the top of a rock. Today, Smokey wants to take you through the water cycle that he goes through.
Oh, look! it seems like the sun has come up. Soon I'm gonna go through the "evaporation process". Evaporation is the process in which water goes from a liquid to a gas, or water vapor, when heat energy is added to the water droplet. Let's do this!
And soon enough, the heat had turned smokey into little droplets that had formed into a cloud.
After the evaporation process, Smokey had turned into gas in a cloud. As time passed, gravity began to pull down on the water droplet contained in the clouds. The gravitational pull caused it to rain
The next process that Smokey had to go through was the precipitation process. Precipitation is the process in which the water droplets contained in the clouds turn back into liquid and falls onto the earth. This is Smokey's favorite process.
After the rain had died down, the water began to collect on the ground wherever the raindrops landed. Smokey ended up in the street and had moved downwards. This is called "Groundwater Run-off". In the end, Smokey found himself going through the water cycle again and again.
