A major problem when it comes to music education in public schools is that many school districts establish a low budget for these programs.
As a result of these low budgets, many teachers in music education don’t have the necessary funding to meet the students’ needs.
This happens because music classes are not seen as a necessity by those in administration that decide the budget and funding for music is among the first to be reduced.
Music education is beneficial to students in multiple ways. It develops the part of the brain that relates to language and reasoning.
Music education teaches kids craftsmanship meaning that they will be more inclined to produce quality work rather than mediocre work.
These benefits along with many more are the reasons why school districts should invest more of the budget into music education.
