  • What is it?
  • Photosynthesis is process of turning light into food (glucose).
  • Who does it happened in plants or animals?
  • The reactants of carbon dioxide comes through the stomata and water comes through the roots and sunlight from sun for the process to happen. Products of glucose comes from the chloroplast and oxygen is release through the stomata as result of the process. 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + Light energy → C6H12O6 + 6 O2
  • This process occurs ONLY plants.
  • Where in the cell does it occur?
  • Chloroplast is the organelle for photosynthesis.
  • When does it occur day, night or both?
  • Photosynthesis occurs only in the day (light).
  • Reactants and Products- What are they and where do they come from?
  • Energy- How does the process help organisms gain energy?
  • Light energy is necessary to produce glucose.
