  • The process occurs in in the mitochondria.

  • All the time -night and day. Respiration is perpetual.
  • Reactants and Products- What are they and where do they come from?
  • Reactants of glucose comes from eating food and oxygen comes from breathing or the stomata for the process. Products of carbon dioxide and water are released as waste products of the process. Chemical energy is released to fuel the body. C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6 C02 6 H2O + chemical energy
  • Energy- How does the process help organisms gain energy? 
  • Chemical energy is released by breaking down glucose.
