I am graphite. You are lucky to have me because I make your pencils.
I have a smooth, soft, and greasy texture. I am used in your everyday life without you even knowing it. At school, work, or home, wherever you need to write something, I am there. I have a hardness scale of 1-2, so I am very soft.
I am not only used in pencils, as people may think, but also in the molds that make foundation for buildings. I am used to line furnaces.
Unfortunatley, you cannot find me in your backyard. In fact, you can rarely even find me anywhere in the US because I am mined in Canada. You may find other boring minerals, but nothing compares to me.
I am used as a dry lubricant for people to use on things like cars. Even rich people with fancy cars can't live without me. Another way I'm used in cars is to make brake liners. You wouldn't want your brakes malfunctioning now would you? I didn't think so.
I am non-metallic and my chemical composition is C. I'm softer than Talc and sometimes Gypsum. Usually I am very soft so all other minerals are harder than me.
No, that's me
I'm pretty sure you guys are talking about me
No, I am
