Storyboard Text

  • I found gold! I'm gonna be rich!
  • What's mica-biotite?
  • Actually sir, thats not gold. That's mica-botite!
  • Here, come with me, I'll show you
  • Where are we?
  • We're in my lab
  • Here we have mica-biotite. You thought it was gold because it can give off light brassy reflections when swishing around in the pan. Common mistake.
  • Well, it belongs to the phyllosilicates family. It's chemical composistion is k(Mg1Fe)2-3Al1-2Si2-3o10(OH1F2). With a softness of 2.5, it's soft, and it has a greasy feel. It has perfect cleavage and a glassy luster. It can be used as an extender in paint, an additive to drilling muds, or coating on asphalt shingles and rolled roofing.
  • Tell me more about this incredible mineral.
  • I'm gonna go make use of my new mineral.
  • Alright well i see you around!
  • Where are you going?
