  • "Here, Natalie!"
  • I was at my last softball tournament of my 10-U (2 years ago) season and my whole team REALLY wanted to win it! We started to stretch for the game. It was a bright and warm day. After we finished, my mom (the head coach) told everyone that we need a ball and a partner. I asked one of our pitchers, Natalie, and she said yes.
  • After we threw, my mom told everyone their position and when they're batting. I was batting third and catching this game. The pitchers needed to warm-up, which meant I needed to help warm them up. Since Natalie was pitching this game and I was catching, we're supposed throw with each other.
  • We started with snaps, only moving the wrist, 4 feet apart from each other. Then we moved to T's. T's are 15 feet away. You start with your arms like you're making the letter T without moving your feet. Next are K's. Same things as T's only you're almost to the mound, you can move your feet, and you make a K.
  • Finally, we moved on to 50%. 50% is the full wind-up, only not throwing as hard. "Nice!" My grandpa said as Natalie threw a fast, strait ball. He was an assistant coach, my mom's dad. "Thanks," she said "I felt my self standing tall on that one. "Are you ready to move on to full?" I asked her. "Yep!" she said.
  • "Throw a change-up!" I said to Natalie, a few minutes later. "Okay," she said "but it might go over your head." It was REALLY good. Next, she threw a fastball. I could hear a swoosh as the ball left her hand, and the crack of the ball when it hit my glove. As I caught it, I glanced over my right shoulder and saw the team coming in.
  • "Okay, girls bring it in," my mom said. "and do your cheer while I see whose home team." As my mom went to go flip a coin, my whole team huddled-up and did our cheer. When we did it, the parents started doing it too on the bleachers. Surprisingly, they were great at it. Everyone was on-key and all together.
