It says here that this book is about learing to do the right thing
Chapter 1In the book The Middle School Rules of Vontae Davis Grandma Adline does not let anyone tell her what her life is gonna be. "I'm leaving home," Adline tells her sister and grandmother. "Why? Where will you go?" her grandma asks. " I don't know," Adline grabs her bag of belongings and waves goodbye to her family." (page 19) This shows how you can't let anyone choose what type of life you are gonna live.
Good for her not letting anyone take charge of her life.
Chapter 2In the book The Middle School Rules of Vontae Davis, Vontae learns to always think before you act.In the text it states, " Joe's Mom is concerned as she hears the story, but she does not punish the boy. Instead she hugs Joe." I'm glad you're ok,"she says,"and I hope you learned lesson. You know the difference between right and wrong." This shows how Vontae and Joe are learning from their mistakes, and won't make the same mistake again.
Chapter 3In the book Vonate learns that when you want something you have to deserve it, not act up for it. In the text it state, " He dramatically falls to the floor, wildly flails his arms, and cries loudly. In one seamless motion, Grandpa takes control of the shopping cart and follows Grandma down the aisle.-But after they unpack the groceries , Grandpa calls Vontae into the living room. "Acting up doesn't get you what you want," he says"(pg 41) This shows how Vontae is learning that you don't get things you want by crying about it.
