- A man and a woman had 2 sons. The older son's name was James and the younger son's name was Richard. They lived a very modest and comfortable life in a small town.
- James was a student in the college. Richard just graduated from high school.
- The parents owned a very successful restaurant business. He made a lot of money through his business which helped to support their family.
- Richard did not want to go to college because he didn't like school. He asked his parents if they would give him his college money instead of using it for tuition. They agreed.
- He uses the money that his parents gave him and moves to New York City. He wanted to move to a big city with lots of excitement.
- When he moved to New York he bought wasteful items. He bought an expensive apartment and a sports car.
