In the 1700s the culture of France people was divided into specific classes. The classes were called estates and were divided into three groups. France was a total Monarchy and over the time with King Louis XIV it became a disaster. King Louis XIV was raising the taxes and the third estate was paying it. The second estate did not agree with paying the taxes and some of the second estates became Enlightenment thinkers since they never own a part in the government and it became a Revolution.
The French Revolution changed history because they had equal rights for everyone. Everything changed there was no more estates and got rid of the monarch. The nationalism began to grow because it would expand areas that the congress was put under foreign control. It was democracy because people was testing democracy to ensure equality and justice for all.
