  • The Celts arrived in England in 700 BC
  • They had a fair complexion, with light hair and eyes. They were tall and muscular.
  • Women were considered almost equal to men, and they could lead them in battles.
  • They lived in small villages
  • For religion, the celts didn't have temples, but held their rites in the woods. They workshipped natural elements, such as the sun, the moon, trees and rivers; their "religious leaders" were the druids, who acted as priests.
  • The celts believed in the afterlife, that according to them was spent in caves or lakes, and they considered water an holy element. They also believed in the transmigration of the soul.
  • They were farmers, hunters, and fishermen. They worked iron and introduced the iron plought.
