The Exposition: The story takes place in the American South. It centers on two characters. The Narrator (James) and his brother (Doodle). When Doodle was born he was all head, and a little pink shrived up body.
The Rising: is when everyone in James family thinks the Doodle is going to die expected for their Aunt. But James dad has the carpenter make them a small casket for Doodle.
The Rising Action: The rising action is when James tells Doodle that he is going to walk and stand, and that they are going to give mom, dad, and auntie the best surprise ever.
The Climax: The climax of this story is when the Ibis falls out of the tree and dies. Then Doodle decides to barry it hoping no one will find out that he touched it.
The Falling Action: The falling action is when James takes Doodle on the boat and rows him with the current, but he makes Doodle row against the current when it starts to rain.
The Resolution: The resolution of the story is when James runs way ahead of Doodle, and James goes back for him. But when James gets back Doodle is dead.
