Poe was adopted by Frances and John Allan. Poe was close with Frances, but not with John.
Money had been an issue between the foster son and father. When Poe went to University of Virginia, he didn't have enough money to cover his costs.
Poe married his cousin, Virginia when she was just 13.
Poe went on to be an author, critic, poet, and editor. He wrote famous stories like "The Raven."
