The Baudelaire Orphans are sent to live with Montgomery Montgomery, a herpetologist. They soon feel at home, and are happy to have him as their guardian, after the cruel Count Olaf tried to kill them!
Now run! I'll hold the Count off!
Eventually, their uncle introduces them to the Incredibly deadly Viper, a smart and friendly viper, that their Uncle named as a joke to scare the herpetological society.
Almost to your Aunt Josephine's!
Then, just as things were starting to look up, Count Olaf, disguised as Stephano, posed as Uncle Monty's new assistant! He tries to kill the Orphans multiple times, but never succeeding, as Montgomery always comes to the rescue.
Tragically, Count Olaf kills Uncle Monty, and the Orphans call the police. Though the police never arrive, and Count Olaf's henchmen pose as Police Officers! Then, as Count Olaf goes to kill the Children, a strange golden statue woman helps them escape.
After escaping the clutches of Count Olaf again, the Baudelaires, are taken by Mr. Poe to their Aunt Josephine's to live. Sadly, this misfortune would not be the last bad thing to happen to them...
