Storyboard Text

  • Give it back!!
  • No are you crazy!!
  • Thanks for the help buddy.
  • No problem.
  • We are not!
  • Don't take over Syria! ;)
  • You better move your troops!
  • During the Cold War Israel took over Golan Heights from Syria during the 1967, 6 day war. Because of this conflict during the Cold War, Syria and Israel's 40 years peace agreement could easily be thrown down the drain. Now Israel is attempting to keep Syrians out of their country.
  • Remember that argument we had...
  • Syria and the USSR have had a friendship treaty sense 1908. Right before the war started they made diplomatic relations in 1944. During the Cold War they both were allies with each other. When Syria was under attack or they were threatened the USSR was always there to help defend them.
  • Who told you i was a sympathizer?!?!?
  • Because the USSR and Syria were allies, when the US accused the USSR of attempting to take over Syria, the USSR made stronger ties with Turkey in case Syria would retaliate. The USSR accused the US of sending troops into Syria. Syria then made threat promises toward the US troops.
  • New of plans for a federal union of Syria and Egypt to convert a communist coup, and failed strategies to counter Damascus were two reason the Syrian Crisis ended. Although a once ended crisis, it may start back up due to past alterations with surrounding countries.
  • Syrian Chief-of-Staff, Afif al Bizri was an alleged Soviet sympathizer. This caused Iraq and Jordan to support a plan to overthrow Syria's government. Turkey stepped in and put troops along Syria and Turkey boarders to protect against any attacks coming.
