  • WWI In General
  • Militarism
  • Alliances
  • I've got your back!
  • "The war to end all wars" was a war that lasted from August 1, 1914 to November 11, 1918. The casualties totaled at over 16 million.
  • Nationalism
  • We're Number 1!
  • No, we're number 1!
  • We surrender!
  • We're Number 1!
  • This was the idea that having the most powerful weapons meant that you were the better country. As such people started creating more powerful weapons in larger numbers in order to prove that they're better than everyone else. As such, when war struck, everyone's armies extremely powerful, and ready for war.
  • Imperialism
  • Before the events of WWI, Britain, France, and Russia  formed an alliance. After word got out of us, everyone started forming alliances with everyone else. So all of the sudden, after two countries went to war, every country they were allies with joined them, then their allies joined, and so on until a small dispute became a world war.
  • Assassination
  • Archduke Franz Ferdinand
  • Gavrio Princip
  • People felt proud of their countries so they wanted to prove their country's strength. How better to do that than by killing the competition in a great war?
  • We're Number 1!
  • Imperialism is the belief that the amount of land you own affects your influence on the world. So, in order to get more land (And therefore, more influence, nations were willing to do pretty much anything).
  • The Archduke of Austria-Hungary got assassinated by Serbia. They went to war, and that escalated into what we today call World War 1.
