weak! can grandpa make it? He's just a little boy!
If I would have stayed home............
WE'VE HIT THE RAPIDS GIVE IT ALL YOU'VE GOT!
while I sleep on a weekend day, my dad cuts into his finger, and I can't help but feel responsible. so I rush to the Doctor and get my dad some help. so feeling responsible I sign up as a voyager. I know this journey will be tough but my dad can't work because of me! I'm going to miss my family, mom and dad, my sisters, and Celeste
Lake superior, one of the big lakes on our trip. but the weather didn't last, so paddle!
My mussels are sore, We have been rowing all day with barely any break. My hands hurt, my brigade thinks i'm weak. blisters everywhere. I miss My family, I am wondering what would happen if I would have stayed at home.
What is this?
Oh no! I heard of some of the hardest parts of the voyage the rapids or the portage if we couldn't get past the rapids it would take forever to portage all the stuff! The rapids pulling the canoe every which ways, the men trying to get control, it seemed not as if we were in charge but the river waiting for the right moment to bring us down. Minutes later we are safely past, everyone was out of breath but we continued on.
Pierre, your back!
As it pored down in rain, the boat filled up, there was almost no way we could get rid of it. b A few of us had to grab a kettle and start emptying the boat, we decided it was worth it to cross the middle but that was a mistake, The boat was thrown every which ways, Waves coming up and yet we paddled through. Finally, We got out of the terrible storm and all the canoes that went along the shore had already got back. We should have gone that way.
As I look across the river I see it, after all the days, no, weeks of paddling, I paddled all this way for a shack of wood?! I cant believe it. Hours of hard work for this. A couple wigwams are set up but other than that, what is this? When we reached shore I angrily got out to help unload.
It seems so strange that only a few months ago I had been here laying in my bed listening to the chop, chop of wood, I can't believe it. All the time I have been in a canoe, paddling around and around, and now, I'm at home with my family. Not that far from the time where I will do it again, being a voyager was one of the best experiences in my life, and I can't say enough to sum it up. I can't wait until next year!
