  • This change was important because now humans had a consistant food source in one location. They could settle, grow taller and stronger, and have time to use their bigger brains for other things besides hunting.
  • Hunter gatherers were nomads and moved from place to place to find enough food to feed a small group. They hunted mostly animals such as wild deer, wild goats, and young bison. When their meat ran out they gathered berries for food.
  • Livestock was kept safe and used as a reliable source of food because they could be bred safely in captivity. The farmers used domesticated dogs to help herd the livestock. They also farmed grains, vegetables, and different types of plants from the wild.
