  • My mom and dad are named Harriet and Ben Ross.
  • Hi. I am Harriet Tubman. I was born 1822 in Dorcheser Country, MD.
  • I freed 300 slaves in 1849, and we escaped to Maryland, Philadelphia. It was great to be free, YAY!
  • When we were slaves, we had to be butlers, do laundry, sew clothes, and maid houses, and we could not stop. So, yeah.
  • I had a husband, named John. My jobs were being a nurse, writer,spy, human rights defender, and an activist.
  • I had a child, named Gertie, born 1874, and I died 1913, in cause of pneumonia.
