- Sadly, at the last minute, West could not escape his cell. He was devastated.
- The other three prisoners, however, escaped successfully.
- There were multiple searches for the prisoners. But, they were not successful.
- There was a raft found floating in the water and there was a stolen car reported somewhere. There was even a body found floating in the water.
- But in the end, officials decided that the three prisoners had drowned.
