  • The Conservation Corps (CCC). The conservation corps was a program that was used to allow men who weren't married and didn't have jobs to work. Men between the age of 18 to 25 were offered 3 meals a day and free housing which was reason enough to go. The programs were make for men to improve America's lands, forests, and parks
  • People who enlisted would make 30$. They would take 5$ for themselves and then send 25$ home to their families. Housing they recieved was done in a military fashion. The housing was a open room with beds laid about it.
  • Men were provided free medical care for choosing to work for the program. Men would also do things like, fight forest fires, Build flood Barriers, and maintain forest grounds and trails. Also Besides men this job employed many army veterans, native American's, and immigrants. The CCC which at its largest employed 500,000 men provided a total of 3,000,000 hours of work.
