The First Stage of the cell cycle is Interphase, and in that’s stage are three different phases of the stage. During G1 the first phase of inter phase is when the cell is growing and developing.During the S phase DNA replicates creating two copies of chromosomes. During the G2 phase the cell continues to prepare for mitosis and cytokenesis.
The second stage is called the M stage or Mitosis. In the first phase, prophase, the chromosomes condense and get bigger. then the cell membrane breaks down and the centrioles move to the opposite ends of the cell. During Metaphase, the chromosomes line up and down the cell and the microtubules attach themselves to the sister chromatids. The next stage, anaphase, the sister chromatids of the chromosomes begin to separate. The centromere divides and the chromosomes move away from each other along the spindle fibers. In telophase the chromosomes reach the opposite ends of the cells, and a nuclear membrane developed around the chromosomes.
Cytokinesis occurrs when the cytoplasm and the organelles separate from each other. Then two genetically identical cells are then formed.
