"I said, It wasn't your fault. Yes it was. I was supposed to protect you." page 60. This shows Character vs. Self because Grover blames himself because he thinks he didn't protect Percy.
Chapter 2 Character vs. Technology
"I drove the broken horn straight into his side, right up under his furry rib cage." page 55. This shows character vs. character because Percy and the Minotaur are trying to kill each other.
Chapter 2 Character vs. Nature
""But it is not my place to judge. Dionysus and the Council of Cloven Elders must decide. I'm afraid they might not see this assignment as a success." page 81. This shows Character vs. Society because Percy thinks it wasn't Grover's fault when Dionysus and the Council of Cloven Elders do.
Chapter 1 Character vs. Character
"There was a huge grinding noise under our feet. Black smoke poured from the dashboard and the whole bus filled with a smell like rotten eggs. The driver cursed and limped the Greyhound over to the side of the highway.After a few minutes clanking around in the engine compartment, the driver announced that we'd all have to get off. Grover and I filed outside with everybody else." page 28. This shows Character vs. Technology because the bus broke down and everyone had to leave the bus.
"A few days later, the biggest tornado ever spotted in the Hudson Valley touched down only fifty miles from Yancy Academy." Page 19. This shows Character vs. Nature because a tornado got pretty close to Yancy Academy.
"I don't remember touching her, but the next thing I knew, Nancy was sitting on her butt in the fountain,screaming, "Percy pushed me!". Page 10. This shows Character vs. Character because Percy pushed Nancy into the fountain.
