The colony of Jamestown was founded in May 14, 1607. Jamestown was home to the Powhatan Tribe. Pocahontas's home.
The british taxed the colonists because the british still needed to pay war debts. The colonists were not happy with these unfair taxes. The colonists sometimes reacted in violent ways.
The phrase no Taxation without representation was first said by Reverend Jonathan Mayhew. This phrase became the anti-British slogan for colonists, protesting against unfair taxes.
NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION
The Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre started with a small argument between British Hugh White, and a few colonists outside the Custom House in Boston on King Street. The argument began to get intense, and colonists gathered around to see what was going on. The colonists started to throw sticks and snowballs. The Boston Tea Party The Boston Tea Party was when colonists dressed up as Native Americans and sailed out to The Boston Harbor. Once there they threw boxes of tea overboard, protesting against the unfair taxes given to them.
American Revolution or American war of Independence. The American Revolution eventually happened because colonists got tired of the unfair laws given. They wanted their Independence. America's independence was won, thanks to the minutemen.
