  • Yay!!!!
  • Hey guys today we are going to be talking about elements and compounds!
  • I have never heard of them.
  • Alright!
  • Elements are on the periodic table and cannot be broken down into simpler substances. Some examples are Fe for iron, Au for gold, and Pb for lead
  • Ok that makes sense
  • Fun!
  • Now we are going to talk about compounds. Compounds are consisted with two or more atoms combined. For example H2O is water, NaCl is salt, and C6H12O6 is sugar.
  • Ok now Mr.Mark what is a molecule?
  • Ok I get it now.
  • Great question Molly! A molecule is a group of atoms held together by a chemical bond. For example, H20, CO2, and H2SO4.
  • So that's what a molecule is!
  • Elements are on the periodic table and cannot be broken down into simpler substances, like H2O!
