First, the reason why mummification was a thing was because in order for the soul to live on, the body must look like it was in the real world
This storyboard will explain everything you need to know about the process of mummification
First the organs are dried and put into jars, but the heart is put back into the body. Then the body is rinse with wine and spices
Then the body was covered with salt for 70 days. After forty days, the body is stuffed with linens or sand to give it a human shape.
After the 70 days, the body would be wrapped in cloths and bandages head to toe. Then the body would be laid in a sarcophagus.
If the body was a Pharaoh like me, it would be put into burial chamber with lots of his treasure. A mask was put of the sarcophagus that was colored with different pigments to show how great they were as a pharaoh
The tools that were needed included a knife to make the abdominal incision, hooked bronze rods to extract the brain, a wooden adze-like tool to remove organs, and a funnel to pour resins through the nose.
Finally the workers that were needed were specially trained for this type of job. This was a very important thing in order to be able to get into the afterlife
