  •     Hoot, by Carl Hiassen is about a boy named Roy. Him and his family have lived many places. He first saw the running boy in Florida running away from the bus with no book bag, books, or shoes. He set himself on the boy's trail.
  • Climax
  • Pancake House 
  •   One of the settings in the novel is at the construction site. A few examples of main characters in the novel include Mullet Fingers aka (Napoleon Bridger), also Roy Eberhardt. Mullet fingers shows Roy the owls that were hiding in the holes with ground beef. Roy thought that the holes were abandoned so he was very surprised.     
  • Falling Action
  • Building is a success and everyone is safe!
  • Roy is moving he always has to make new friends. When he gets to his school there is one person who doesn't really like him. His name is Dana Matherson, he makes Roy's new adventure a nightmare. He always tries to make new friends even if it involves Dana. 
  • Resolution
  •    While building the new pancake house, Roy, Beatrice, and Mullet Fingers tried to stop the process. There were burrowing owls below the ground and in order to keep building they have to dig up the owls dens. They then have a huge protest to save the owls. 
  • Everyone turns against Chuck Muckle and Mother Paula's Pancake House at the demonstration. The building falls through, the owls were saved, Mullet Fingers is able to live on his own. Also, Roy becomes a person who is full of integrity and compassion. Nobody ever lets this man down.
  • A reporter comes to Roy's house to interview him. Then, Roy's dad gives him the Environmental Impact Statement to give to the reporter. Following that, the owls are saved from when they were underground under the building during the process of building Mother Paula's Pancake House.        Mullet fingers Mu Mullet Fingers ran away from home and A noisy neneighbor had mistaken the escape for a burglary in ocess and had noticed the police. Mullet Fingers made it 2 blocks before the police surrounding him. She told the officers that he stole a valuable toe ring from her jewelry box, and demanded that he should be loced up in jail. He lasted 17 hours before breaking out.
