This is where the Frank's lived when they heard about the invasion of the Nazis. They lived in the attic of a warehouse and office building in Amsterdam, Holland near a church. This all started in 1945. During the war, the allies bombed industrial areas that had been taken over by the Germans.
In scene 2; it is July 1942. The rooms are bare, as before, but early they are now clean and orderly. Mr. Van Dann, a tall, portly man in his late forties, is in the main room, pacing up and down, nervously smoking a cigarette. His clothes and overcoat are expensive and well cut.
The franks lived here for 2 years, before they got sent off to the concentration camps. Anne was only 12 years old when they started hiding.
