  • I guess we can investigate
  • Hmmm.
  • Wee need to "Protect the health and wellness of women and children who work"
  • We need to make a reasonable wage.
  • During 1918,  the District of Columbia passed a law to set a minimum wage for women and children in labor.
  • We have spoken and this law is deemed unconstitutional. The vote was 5-3.
  • There was an investigation to see current wages and solicit input on current wages. They did this too find a good minimum wage.
  • The State Government decided that the minimum wage for the workers would be set at 16.50  dollars a week " If the work provides food"  and 15 dollars  "in a Laundry."
  • Thank you for my payroll sir.
  • Go cash this in.
  • The Chief Justice said,
  • This law was going against the "Due Processes Clause" in the 5th Amendment of the US Constitution.
  • Because of this case,  it helped create minimum wages across the country.  This helps people get employed and raise the economy.
