American secretary of state George C. Marshall saw a threat in both the economy of Europe and to the U.S. economy and had the idea that the U.S. could help rebuild war-torn Europe with loans and other economic aid. Western Europe received more than $13 billion in U.S. loans and grants for European economic recovery.
This was a policy using numerous strategies to prevent the spread of communism. Though, it doesn't mean the full erasment of communism and is usually without ending it in the countries in which it already exists like the Ussr at this period of time.
Iron Curtain Speech
In May 1946, Churchill delivered a famous speech at Westminster College in Missouri. He had recently been defeated in his reelection for prime minister, but he continued to warn people or citizens is in the United States of the dangers of communism. The main purpose of the speech was to explain to citizen why they shouldn't follow in communism.
