This was a meeting between the leaders of the Allied powers that resulted in a plan for peace after World War II. They wanted support for the creation of an international peace organization. This allowed smaller countries to create their own democracy not with Germany ruling over them.
In response to the Soviet Union blockade of routes into West Berlin, the United States begins a massive airlift of food, water, and medicine to the citizens of the surrounded city. For nearly a year, supplies from American planes helped over 2 million people in West Berlin.
Formation of NATO
The United States joined nine Western European countries, along with Iceland and Canada to form what is called the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. They promised to each other that they would help defend if anyone of them was ever attacked.
