  • As the Ming Dynasty slowly turned weak due to unskillful leaders, the Manchus easily took control of China, creating the Qing Dynasty
  • For 300 years, The Manchu were able to keep their Qing Dynasty cooperative by keeping much of the Ming policies. 
  •  Arduous farming kept farmers busy as they supplied China with food. They worked hard to provide enough food  the winter months and stayed busy all year.
  • Merchants handled trade and earned great wealth. Farmers sold cash crops like cotton. Also, artisans made money with their art forms and paintings. 
  • Lord McCartney brought British goods to China trade Qing leaders opened their parts to more European influence
  • Trade with Britain weakened the Qing control and power which led to the Chinese falling to the British in later years.
