  • That is not enough money, there is a tax!
  • The American Revolution
  • I will take some molasses!
  • WHAT!
  • The British won the french and indian war between the French, Natives, and Britain but they became in extreme debt so they decided to tax the colonists unfairly
  • LET ME IN! you have to house me now!
  • NO! I don't want this creepy man in this house!
  • The first tax the British made on the colonists was the Sugar Act. It put a tax on sugar, wine, indego, and molasses.
  • You foolish colonists! Do you want more punishment?
  • We will not trade with you!
  • The colonists were very upset about that tax because merchants bought molasses to make rum to sell to other colonies.
  • After many more taxes and a lot of angry outbursts from the colonists the British made the intolerable acts as punishment to the colonists. It stated that Britain could house troops were ever they wanted, they closed the Boston harbor from all trade and banned the committees of correspondence.
  • The colonists were very angered by the act so they voted to stop all trade with Britain until the acts were repealed. Also since the boston harbor was closed the other colonies sent supplies to Boston.
