Now, the Philistines were fighting against Israel and they took over Saul and his sons. Saul was badly injured by the archers and he asked his armor bearer to kill him as he did not want to die by the uncircumcised. The armor bearer was scared and so Saul fell upon his own sword. 1 Samuel 31: 1-7
The Lord Said, "I will establish your throne forever and your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever."
Ab'salom tells David that he is going and David gives him peace. But, Absalom sends secret messengers throughout the tribe of Israel saying that as soon as they hear the trumpet blow say 'Ab'salom is king at Hebron. David finds out about his son's rebellion and flees from Jerusalem so that he cannot get captured.2 Samuel 15: 7-14
Ab'salom gets stuck in an oak tree and Joab throws three darts into his heart and ten young men, Jo′ab’s armor-bearers, surrounded Ab′salom and struck him, and killed him. David hears of Ab'solom's death and mourns him2 Samuel 18: 14-33
I have sinned against the Lord
The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you will die
The Lord makes a covenant to David, through the prophet Nathan. He said that he will build a house for the Lord and his throne shall be established forever. His house and his kingdom shall be made sure ever before Him. 2 Samuel 7: 8-17
David wakes up one morning and sees a woman named Bathsheba bathing n the rooftop. He invites her over and sleeps with her and gets her pregnant. She has a husband name Uriah who is in the king's army, so David makes sure he is fighting in the front line so that he may die. Uriah dies and David gets married to Bathsheba.2 Samuel 11: 2-17
The Lord sends Nathan to David to tell him that after all the Lord has done for him, he has done that which is evil in the Lord's eyes. David admits to his sin and the Lord forgives him, but in punishment takes away David's son. After this, David than has another son with Bathsheba and names him Solomon, with whom the Lord loves.2 Samuel 12: 1-19
