The French and Indian War was a conflict between France and Great Britain.
It was a war to decide which nation would control territory and power. Benjamin Franklin proposed the Albany Plan of Union which was the alliance between the British and Indians.
The Treaty of Paris ended the war in 1763. The treaty gave Britain Canada.

Britain imposed the Proclamation of 1763 on the colonists which prohibited colonists from crossing the line and going to the Appalachian Mountains due to the British and Indians not getting along.
The war cost a lot of money so they made colonists pay taxes. The colonists became angry.
