  • Achilles confronts Hector about him killing Achilles best friend, Patroclus. Hector defends himself by saying he thought Patroclus was Achilles. Achilles begins the duel against Hector.   
  • The fighting begins! Achilles swears that he will kill Hector and avenge his friend Patroclus.  Hector swung his spear and hit Achilles' shield.  Now Achilles thrust his spear at an opening between Hector's armor.
  • The spear thrown by Achilles struck Hector.  He begged Achilles to be merciful and allow him a proper burial. Achilles denied him that.
  • Achilles takes Hector's body and ties it to the back of his chariot with a thong. While doing this Hector's family shouts and cries in grief. Achilles rode around the walls of the city Troy with Hector's body tied to the back of it.
