The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street Theme: Don't let assumptions ruin your friendships
Evidence one: were accusing Les Goodman of being the creature and Charlie was keeping an eye on him and Charlie's wife comes and talks about how they shouldn’t accuse him because they have been friends since the Goodman’s moved there.
I think the theme of The monster Due on Maple Street is don’t let assumptions ruin your friendship because the whole time they argued and accused each other and pointed fingers even though they were all good friends and neighboors. A peice of evidence is when they were accusing Les Goodman of being the creature and charlie was keep an eye on him and charlies wifecomes and talks about how they shouldn’t accuse him because they have been friends since the goodman’s moved there. It supports my theme because before all the assumptions they were all really good friends. They all were pointin the finger at Les because of his car starting by itself.Charlie had called Les an Oddball because of everything that was going on and ignored the fact that they had been good friends for 5 years. They all accused each other and forgot about the fact they were friends and they all backed away from Les because of him saying he has insomnia and they had thought he was waiting for something/someone.This is evidence because it proves that before they had assumed they were all monsters they were all good friends and had known each other for a while and the monster caused them to go crazy. A piece of evidence is when they all thought the figure was something but it ended up being Pete and Charlie had shot Pete Van Horn. Charlie was assuming Pete Van Horn was some type of monster and shot him because of assumptions. It helps because before charlie was yelling at Steve about the fact how he doesn’t protect his town and because of it he shot Pete thinking he was a monster. The dark figure that was Pete had terrified the neighbors and caused them to assume it was some monster and so it frightened all of them and caused them to shoot him. Even though Steve had tried to tell Charlie not to use the gun because they can’t assume Charlie didn’t want to listen and let the assumptions get to him that Pete was a monster. Another piece of evidence is At the end the camera get’s a shot of everyone yelling who the monster is and then showing the Maple Street sign and people were yelling and gunshots go off. The assumptions caused everyone to go against each other and blame who it is. It caused them to throw things at each other just like they threw rocks at charlie because of him assuming Pete was a monster and shooting him. The beginning was they were all having conversations and living there life but the end was all of them yelling and shooting all because of assuming each others were monster. They all were good friends until the monsters came because of all the assumptions they all accused one another for random things that were happened and that immediately makes them accuse its someone. The theme was don’t let assumptions ruin your friendship because if they never had assumed someone did it once something weird happen to there house or near them they all would have still been friends and wouldn’t accuse each other.
