Leon and his family live in Fuquay, NC. They live on Mr. Johnson's farm. They do sharecropping with him.
The white kids would throw rocks at the black kids as they were walking to school. The bus driver would stop the bus so he could tease the black kids.
Leon's teacher is his cousin. At lunch, the kids go and get wood for the fire. Everybody brings a canned good. The teacher mixes them all together as a soup/ stew.
The man that Leon was working for took him to the bar. Leon waited in the truck. When the people came out of the bar, there were 2 dogs following them. the dogs the men set the dogs loose so they could try to hurt Leon. But people came to the bar with a gun and threatened to shoot the dogs if they didn't let Leon go.
Representatives come to the black schools and colleges and ask them to go to Raleigh to participate in marches.
Leon and his brother now work at a school in Baltimore, he is a janitor. The school made a scholarship program, for the kids in Baltimore, in Leon and his Brother's names. Leon had 1 daughter and 2 sons. He got married in NC but got divorced. He then remarried.
