The man, or narrator, stood at the diverged path, in the morning, not knowing what to do.
The man was confused on what path to take because one path wasn't much better than the other path. He wondered if he could take the other path another day. But in his head, he knew he would never come back, and that's why he was stumped.
Then, in the end, he explains that taking that path affected his life, and how that path had made his life very fortunate just for taking a path.
