  • Boston Massacre
  •  British troops meant to keep order but colonists just got outraged Citizens viewed British soldiers as potential opresers3 major things that caused it: Growing mistrust between British and patriots There were not enough soldiers to keep peace ( patriots outnumbered them)The Townshend acts (patriots did not agree with them, and wanted to repeal it)    On March 5, 1770 evening between patriots and British soldiers . Started as a small argument, turned to the massacre. The patriots {frustrated}threw snowballs, stones, and sticks at the soldiers. 
  • Everybody consumed tea so much because it was really tasty and when it was taxed thepatriots were really unhappy. Since they did not want to be taxed on tea they avoided tax collectors they smuggled tea so they do not have to get taxed British claimed that they had the right to tax them.  December 16,1773The British carried 500,00 pounds of tea from the East India company to Boston,

  • Battle of Lexington and Concord
  • This battle began on April 19th, 1775. It was between the colonists and Britain. This battle was significant as it was the start of the American Revolutionary War. This was caused because Britain was putting many taxes on patriots/ British colonies. Many governors from many colonies- 56 to be exact, met up and tried to figure out a way to stop Britain from controlling colonists. They asked Britain to stop putting taxes on everything that colonists purchase, but Britain refused. This caused war and Britain attacked colonists in Lexington.

  • Over 50 colonists arrived The British captain sent troops to maintain order but seeing the troops made the colonists happy. Colonist dared soldiers to fireSoldiers got angry, fired guns at Patriots 5 patriots dead 3 injured13 people were arrested 8 British soldiers 1 officer and 4 civilians charged with murder and put in jailTroops were removed from the city Other colonies used this event to portray the evilness of Britain. The American Revolution started 5 years later.

  • NewYorkSons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans, ran to the ships filled with tea. Tipped 342 crates of tea into Boston Harbor. Happened because taxes were not taken off the tea. The tea that was dumped into the harbor was worth $1,700,000  (9,659 euros). The British shut down the Boston Harbor due to the smell. It was shut down until all 342 barrels of tea paid for. They implanted the intolerable act American responded with resistanceBoston tea party was the first act of defiance by American colonistsColonists called the first Continental Congress to consider American resistance to the British.

  • The war is over and now we can forget about everything
  • British shot first and the Patriots fought for freedom. This was known as “The shot heard around the world.”In Concord, patriots increased and the British went back to Boston. The colonists start to win and Britain is being defeated. The rebel intelligence network suggested that the British aim in Lexington was to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock, two of the most prominent Patriot leaders. The Patriots went to Fort Ticonderoga to steal weapons from Britain while they were busy. America started to win again as they have the weapons of Britain and the British are not able to do anything now.

  • Thomas Jefferson wrote the official Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson was the first president of America. He wrote things against the British crown on July 2nd, The voting for the declaration of independence was voted for John Adams declared that July 2nd was the most beloved day in America, but the declaration of independence went into effect on July 4th, 1776 and that's why July 4th is America day. After the declaration of independence was voted for an official that was the birth of America, USA, US, United States of America.

  • The treaty of Paris is what ended the seven years war between France, Britain, and Spain. It was the end of the European conflict in North America and created the basis for the modern country of Canada. Most of the fighting took place in North America, where the European powers clashed over possession of their colonies. The North American theatre is also known as the French and Indian War.
