Johnny Goldson was the best football player in the country. Everyone loved him, his great attitude, and the way he treated kids. He always had something to say for them after a game.
It all feels great, but I couldn't have even got one of those touchdowns without my team. Stay in school snd respect your parents kids!
How do you feel after the big win, Johnny, and after setting the total touchdown record for juniors?
His father and uncle were some of the best high school players in the country in their time, but a car crash for one and a torn ACL for the other had halted their careers. Everyone in the city knew that if either of them had a son he would have crazy expectations.
Thanks, I'll certainly try!
Your uncle and I are proud of you. I think that you'll be better than we were.
There's no way they're going to catch me. No one does anymore, this is too easy.
His season ended in the first game, on a torn hamstring just like his uncle. Everyone said that it was a dirty play, but he knew that he would've been just fine had he gone to summer workouts with the rest of the team. Although he was done that year, it recovered well, and he'd be able to play just fine the next year
Throughout his sophomore and into his junior year, he kept skipping rehab sessions, getting to practice late , and getting re-injured. It wasn't just sports, but his depression got to his personal relationships, too. By the time he realized that he was the problem, so much of his career was gone. He only had one season left.
Two years later and I still haven't touched the field again. If only I listened to my family, & especially my coaches. Im not made of steel.
Johnny had a good senior season, and he made a lot of good memories. He met his wife after his last game, and 5 years later he had a good job and a nice house, and he wanted to start a family. Still, after he stopped playing, a part of him was gone. he never really felt the same
