In 1965, a group of Sydney Uni students wanted to see for themselves what life was like for the aborigines suffering racial discrimination. To do this, they decided to jump on a bus and travel around NSW.
Their spokesman, and the first aborigine to graduate from University, Charles Fisher, organised the campaign and many others to make Australia more equal.
Many people opposed it; they were even driven out of a town by angry residents!
They made a massive contribution to aboriginal rights by bringing attention to rural areas with aboriginal population.
