I woke up thinking that today was just gonna be an ordinary day. I did my usual routine to get ready and I was on my way!
My parents dropped me off at school that morning , I met up with my friends and I had explained to them that I didn't have a good feeling about that day.
Finally, it had come around to 8th period. It was such an exausting day and I just wanted band to be over so I could go home!
We were just finishing up with the class... As we heard an active shooter alarm go across the intercom.
Mrs. Mier led us into the band storage room. No one knew if it was a drill or not but we treated it as if it was real. All of the students were cramming into the small room as we waited to hear further instructions.
After 30 minutes of sitting in that tightly crammed room, a Police Officer walked in an explained that the alarm was falsely hit. We were finally released and as we walked out, our parents hugged us tight. I learned that you should never take life for granted and always be prepared because you never know whats going to happen.
