I wonder what the mine would look like with people working here.
We thought he was with you.
We thought he was with you guys.
Josh, a ten year old cub scout, accompanied his dad on a trip to Hidden Treasure Mine. He watched as the scouts put up the tents, than he joined in a game of capture the flag.
Josh's dad called him to go into the cave. He went with three other boy scouts and his dad as the group leader.
Can I please....
Then Josh's dad had to take a scout with night blindness out of the cave. His dad assumed he was going to stay with the other two scouts. So at 9:30 when they came out of the cave, Josh wasn't with them.
How did he survive that long without food or water?
Josh's dad gathered a small search party. At 2:30 am the scout leaders called the sheriff. Then the Tooele County Search and Rescue Team arrived along with the Salt Lake Search and Rescue Team. They searched but couldn't find him.
A mine historian named John Skinner heard about Josh, and he thought that he would be the perfect person to find Josh. So he tried to help but the sheriff stopped him.
But thankfully he didn't give up because him and the team he gathered found Josh, and he told them his whole story about his crazy adventure. But the question was "How did he survive five days in a mine without any food or water?", well that was his secret.
