  • Gaia gave birth to Uranus, he covered her with his starry mantle they then married.
  • Scene 4
  • They made many children, most of them were terrible monsters; creatures with 100 arms and one eye.
  • Scene 5
  • Uranus feared these monsters and banished them deep inside the earth. This made Gaia sad, she became angry and plotted against him.
  • Scene 6
  • Gaia finally gave birth to several gods and goddesses who were not fearful monsters. Among them was Kronos, strong enough to overthrow Uranus.
  • Gaia had given Kronos a sickle, in which he used to kill his father in one fatal sweep while he rested,
  • Kronos then overtook Uranus as the king of the sky.
