Storyboard Text

  • There were many Enlightenment thinkers. Mary Wollstonecraft was a feminist who believed women should have more rights, she wrote many books on her ideas. Thomas Jefferson was the third President of the United States. He was also the major author of the Declaration of Independence. And John Locke was a very famous Enlightenment philosopher who laid most of the groundwork for the Enlightenment.
  • Women's Rights Matter!
  • The Declaration of Independence states the laws of the USA
  • Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
  • Before the French Revolution officially began, the church members, noblemen and women, and peasants and Bourgeoisie were split into three different groups. This was called the Division of French Society. The clergy was the First Estate. The nobles were in the Second Estate. And with the peasants and Bourgeoisie combined into the Third Estate. The Third Estate was forced to pay the majority of the taxes for the king, while the First and Second Estate had to pay very little.
  • More rights!
  • We don't need to pay taxes, we take them!
  • Due to Deficit Spending and Debt by King Louis XVI, the Third Estate had to pay a serious amount of taxes. This, obviously, annoyed the people. This is one of the reason on how the French Revolution started.
  • No more taxes!
  • Let's start a Revolution!
  • VILLE FISCAL
  • We should do something about it!
