- Louis Riel and the Metis of Red River
- We are so worried for our whole way of life! Look what they are doing! They have no right! Here is what we think will happen:
- Those settlers will build farms and put fences around them.
- They'll start off by sending land surveyors. Those land surveyors will divide up the land and sell these lots to settlers.
- The bison will run away, thus destroying the bison hunt, and our way of life!
- Oh no! Whatever shall we do!
- I know! I'll create the Metis List of Rights...
- Dear Mr. Macdonald...
- I am so glad to see your vision of a united nation come to reality. As I’m sure you’ve been informed, Mr. McDougall’s surveying team was escorted to the border. These actions were implemented due to the fact that your government had in no way discussed this with our people. Moving on, we as a Metis community in Red River have thoroughly discussed joining your country but on a few conditions.
