The Continental army crosses the river on the night of December 25. It is not an easy crossing though, they battle a tough blizzard and the possibility of the river freezing.
The Continental army arrives and surprise attacks the Hessians on December 26.
The Hessians know that they aren't doing well, and eventually surrender against the Continentals, giving them the victory.
