Hey there! I just moved into this new neighborhood a week ago if you're wondering. My name is Daniel Leung by the way.
Life is great so far, but my asian ethnicity has caused some problems. I have made a friend in school though.
Oh no! It's starting to rain. I'll talk more when I get back in the house.
There he is!
Oh that's my friend Andrew. Hi!
Hi Daniel! Nice to see you. I was on the way home. See you in school tommorow!
So as I was saying, my Asian descent has caused some problems for me. Those stereotypes like Asians eating dogs and having small eyes is usually untrue, like other stereotypes.
Daniel headed into his room and spoke about his week in the new neighborhood.
As I went on in the first week, I've have been picked on because I was new to this area and how different I was from others in my school. I was one of the only Asians in my school.
That was when Andrew became my friend. Andrew is one of the "popular" students. Slowly, people started to judge me differently and respected me.
Andrew understood that these stereotypes about asians were untrue, and befriended me. He told me that he was also relatively new to this area, and he was here for only a year. He told me that I will make a lot of friends.
He told others to not believe these stereotypes about asians.
That's the end of my story, I'm going to sleep now!
It's time for school. Hopefully today will be great and I get more friends!
